THE TRUTH about ME.

Ok, for those of you who have found yourself here for some answers, I’d like to first say THANK YOU for taking an interest in your local election. I truly believe that engaged & informed citizens WILL make a difference!

When I decided to run, I just wanted to make a positive impact in our community. I had no idea the amount (or to what degree) of shady dealings, flat out lies and LACK of transparency coming from our current mayor, council and City Hall. Guys, it is frightening! It revealed to me a whole new reason why I’m running for city council. We have a LOT of cleaning up to do in Peoria, and I’m not just talking about the dead trees, feces, and graffiti in the parks in the southern area of our city!

I’ve had a few questions about the libel that Vicki Hunt is pushing out, so I thought I’d clarify here. (She doesn’t have enough to promote about HERSELF after 15 years on council so she has to make up lies about me.) 

Here is her propaganda aimed at me:

• Moved to south Peoria less than 2 years ago to run for office.

Anyone who knows me is aware of WHY my husband and I moved to our home in southern Peoria. It was certainly NOT to run for office. That lie actually makes me laugh out loud. We became empty nesters and a large home in north Peoria wasn’t in alignment with our future financial goals so we downsized.  

• Has not served on a single Peoria board or commission. 
• Zero experience in public service. 

This is where the “crazy” reference comes into play. This is also laughable. Vicki and I served together on the board of the Friends of the Peoria Public Library. I reminded her of that just a few months ago when I reintroduced myself to her, and again last month during a candidate forum with her. If she can’t remember 1 month ago, is she fit to represent you? (Or, if she’s that much of a dishonest person, should she represent you?)

• Misleading Peoria voters about crime in the city. 

Facts are facts. I have quoted nothing but FACTS relating to public safety. I don’t want to sound like Jack in A Few Good Men, but she obviously can’t handle the TRUTH. Peoria’s public safety departments are underfunded and understaffed. Just look at our emergency response times – 2 minutes over the average in the valley. What can happen in 2 minutes?? Ask any victim of crime and they can tell you. 

• Backed by supporters who think the 2020 election was stolen. 

Again, going back to the “crazy.” I’m endorsed by the Peoria Police Officers Association and Arizona Police Association, two organizations who have made no reference to the 2020 election. This just makes me shake my head. Maybe she thinks she’s still teaching English lit and is talking about other fictitious people like Jane Eyre or Mary Poppins?? 

 

The bottom line is DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Just because something is put in print, doesn’t make it TRUTH.
